Dear [MS,MR NAME]
I write this letter to you
because I have just attended the event “[EVENT NAME]”
which took place on October the 25th In Madrid. I
immediately went browsing on the site: [THE PLACE WHERE IT WAS POSTED] and found this job opportunity for the position of [THE POSITION YOU APPLY FOR].
I have found this
opportunity very appealing. The term full stack does resonate with my
abilities and background and I truly believe that I can be a good
asset for your organisation.
Allow me to briefly
describe what was my biggest inspiration and roll model in the IT
sector.
It was back in the year
2000 when I got the opportunity of working with a Finish ISP company
based in Barcelona/ Spain called OneNet. Although I was already
taking courses in web development, I was hired in the telemarketing
department because of my English skills.
From that moment on, my
life would never be the same. The turning point was when I met the
senior technician, also from Finland who was barely 17 years old.
We soon developed a good
friendship and I had the good luck of learning many things from him
about networking and systems administration. Topics like Linux/TCP/IP
and routing became a passion to me thanks to him.
Later on I joined another
company also in Barcelona named “[NAME OF COMPANY]” which
translates “[COMPANY'S NAME TRANSLATION]”. The company's business was to
implement the online learning campus of the [UNIVERSITY NAME] onto private companies and recreated the same
learning experience as in the university. I started working in the
operations department dealing mainly with Unix/Linux and Oracle
databases. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to be
surrounded by very high skilled engineers who were always willing to
give a helping hand when the task at hand became daunting and a
clarifying explanation of the processes involved. While being there I
continued to research and expand my knowledge in ITC and after having
followed training courses in networking, CCNA and Linux systems
administration I was promoted to the position of System
Administrator. As head of my department I carried out major tasks
as migrating from Windows NT unto Linux/Samba and had to train and
supervise fresh students doing internships as well as to troubleshoot
with the network.
After this enriching job
experience I decided to explore my web-development skills and
ventured working independently for a couple of years programming in
[PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES SEPARETED BY COMMA]. This gave me the opportunity to travel
to many places of the globe while learning of other cultures and
languages. Thus how I spent some time in [LIST OF COUNTRIES WHERE YOU HAVE LIVED] and finally [LATEST COUNTRY OVERSEES] where I cofounded and volunteered for an NGO [NAME OF PROYECT OR COMPANY] over one and a half year. I did perform various tasks with the
association such as programming a tool in php and mysql for managing
the accountancy and coordinating the construction of small schools in
remote areas for vulnerable children as well as teaching english.
Back in Europe I continued
to develop hybrid mobile applications with Angular, Ionic, Cordova,
Javascript in the frontend side as well as programming api's with
php, mysql and unix on the backend side.
I think I best fit in an
environment where I have the opportunity to deal with different areas
of the development process. That's why I believe that this job best
matches my experience and skills. Besides, I am eager to continue
learning and as I explained before, the Finish culture has had a huge
positive impact in the beginning of my career.
I am looking forward to
further feedback on this position and I appreciate very much that you
have taken the time to go through this letter.
Best regards
